Zakir Abdul Karim Naik is a public speaker and writer on the subject of Islam and comparative religion. He is the founder and president of the Islamic Research Foundation (IRF), a non-profit organization that owns the Peace TV channel based in Mumbai, India. Before becoming a public speaker, he trained as a doctor. According to recent media reports, the United Islamic Aid IRF Educational Scholarship based on Islamic Knowledge, taqwa and merit is now available for Muslim students pursuing courses in Medicine, Engineering, Education, Management etc. They have allotted Rs.1 crore to be given in scholarships.
